Do You Put Sour Cream In Beef Stroganoff

What Makes this The Best Beef Stroganoff recipe?

For starters, this is the easiest beef stroganoff I’ve ever made, in my opinion. It has simple ingredients and easy to follow instructions.

This is the most flavorful because of the extra creamy sour cream sauce. It’s important to make sure the meat is well-seasoned with salt and pepper before searing it to get crispy bits on the pan.

Because of everything that’s stuck on it, it tastes so good. If its not super flavorful, something went wrong.

The beef base I use for this recipe—which tastes better than bouillon—is much more concentrated, flavorful, and enhances everything! It has a lot more flavor than beef broth or beef cubes!

Since interest in this recipe has begun to grow, I felt compelled to emphasize how crucial that step is.

I’m sure anyone can locate it if we had it in Palmer, Alaska; I’ve even had success finding it at Costco.

This is about a hundred times better than I could have imagined this simple stroganoff. It challenges that childhood memory of the best beef stroganoff.

I dare say it, it wins. I prefer to consider it an updated and better version. In fact, my mother declared that this is the greatest beef stroganoff she has ever had.

Beef Stroganoff Instant Pot Alternative

This is a great quick and easy recipe that I made in my instant pot; it tastes a little bit less flavorful than when I made it the traditional way.

Heres what I did. I only used the instant pot as if it were a stovetop pan. Nothing else changed.

I seasoned the meat, per usual. But used the “saute” setting. Then I added the onion and garlic, like usual. Then the broth and put the stew meat back in.

The lid went on and cooked it for 25 minutes. No slow release, just hit cancel and let it vent.

Here is a collage of pictures I took using my instant pot. I took these with my phone, so they’re not the prettiest, but the purpose of them is to convey the idea.

I then followed the directions to make the sour cream sauce and added it to the instant pot. Switch to saute and let this boil and thicken for five minutes. Then take the pot off the heat.

I followed the directions and separately boiled the noodles before adding them to the creamy beef stroganoff mixture.

We really enjoyed it in this manner, and if I have more time, I will definitely do it again.

I haven’t tried this recipe in a slow cooker, so I can’t recommend how long to cook it for, but some reviews have mentioned how successful they were using it.
